    The search committee for the strategic biomolecular & biomedical sciences faculty position (#35539) will hold their first meeting next week Thursday December 8, 2011 from 10:00-12:00pm in, the School of Integrated Science and Humanity conference room, DM 445.

  • End-of-semester star party

    Dec. 2, 2011, 8pm-11:30pm, CP 145 and observing pad

    Music, telescopes, munchies, astronomers. NASA update and live music. Telescopes and at the student observing pad observing all evening until 11:30 pm if weather permits.

  • Godel, Einstein and the Nature of Space-time

    Nov. 4, 2011, 8pm-9pm, CP 145 and observing pad

    Dr. Webb, discusses the famous Kurt Godel's solution to Einstein's famous equations of gravity. Telescopes and observing at the student observing pad if weather permits.

  • An Evening at the Edge of the Universe

    Oct. 14, 2011, 8pm-9pm, CP 145 and observing pad

    Dr. James R. Webb, FIU Physics professor will take you to the edges of the visible universe and describe the incredible and exotic objects find there. CP 145, MM campus. Telescopes and observing at the student observing pad if weather permits.

  • Ancient Astronomical Calculators

    Sept. 23, 2011, 8pm-9pm, CP 145 and observing pad

    Dr. Webb talks about recent discoveries of an ancient astronomical calculator as well as other well known astronomical prediction devices such as Stonehenge. Telescopes and observing at the student observing pad if weather permits.

  • Astronomy Music Festival Star Party

    Sept. 14, 2011, 8pm-9pm, CP 145 and observing pad

    A concert of astronomy music from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, to Jimi Hendrix! Concert in CP 145 and Telescopes and observing until midnight is weather permits at the student observing pad.
