"Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landings." A talk by Dr. Webb. The telescopes will be out all evening if weather permits. There will be live Buffett music by Dr. Webb and friends, key lime pies, door prizes, and frozen non-alcoholic margaritas. It will be fun for the whole family! The Stocker Astroscience Center is right next to the Chemistry and Physics building!

In March we will be hosting a regional Learning Assistant Workshop at Florida International University. Learning Assistants (LAs) are becoming increasingly popular in STEM departments around the country and are typically undergraduate students who are trained in content and pedagogy. Learning Assistants help other students navigate and succeed in their introductory level courses. The program has played a major role in improving instruction and in inspiring STEM majors to explore teaching>>>

Dr. Diandra Leslie-Pelecky, Department of Physics, West Virginia University
Dr. Leslie-Pelecky has spent the majority of her twenty-year academic career as a nanomaterials research and educator at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She is also nationally recognized for her work in science education and outreach at all levels, with projects primarily funded by the National Science Foundation.
